Chasing your dreams is good.

Spiritual Growth & Connection

Introduction :

In life, we all have goals we want to reach — a better career, success in school, building a business, fulfilling a dream.
But sometimes, the pressure to succeed can tempt us to rush, to cut corners, or even hurt others along the way.
God cares not just about your destination, but about the path you take to get there.

If you want true success — the kind that brings peace, joy, and blessing — you must walk with integrity, patience, and love.
Let’s look at how the Bible teaches us to move toward our goals the right way, without losing our faith or hurting others.

1. Do everything with love and kindness.

1 Corinthians 16:14
“Let all that you do be done with love.”
→ Even when you’re working hard toward your goals, never forget to act with love. Don’t step on people or treat them badly to get ahead.

2. Be honest and act with integrity.

Proverbs 10:9
“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”
→ Reaching a goal dishonestly or by cutting corners will not lead to true blessing. God honors honest efforts.

3. Trust God’s timing and don’t rush through wrong means.

Ecclesiastes 3:1
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”
→ Sometimes we are tempted to rush or cheat to reach our dreams faster. But God has a perfect time for everything. Waiting faithfully is part of taking action the right way.

4. Serve others as you walk toward your goals.

Mark 10:45
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.”
→ True greatness comes from helping others, not just focusing on yourself. You can still be goal-driven and lift people up along the way.

5. Avoid selfish ambition.

Philippians 2:3-4
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
→ Your goals should not make you blind to the people around you. Stay humble and considerate even while you work hard.

Simple advice from all of this:

“Work hard, walk with love, wait for God’s timing, and never hurt others to move yourself forward. God’s blessing follows those who honor Him in their actions.”

Example:

Imagine you want a promotion at work.

  • The wrong way: You gossip about your coworkers, take credit for things you didn’t do, and step on others to make yourself look better. You might reach your goal for a moment, but it won’t last — and you hurt others along the way. (Proverbs 10:9 warns that dishonest paths are exposed.)
  • The right way: You work hard, stay honest, help your teammates, and stay patient even when others seem to move ahead faster. You trust God’s timing. When the promotion comes, it’s a true blessing — and you kept your heart right with God. (1 Corinthians 16:14 — Do everything with love.)

Simple Message to Follow:

“Reach your goals the right way: work hard, stay honest, be kind, and trust God’s timing. What you build with integrity will last.”
