Interrupt the Spiral

Positive Thinking

Negative thoughts often spiral. One turns into another, and before you know it, your whole mood shifts. But spirals can be interrupted. The moment you notice the pattern, you have the power to redirect it.

How to practice it:

  • Recognize the spiral early: tension in the body, racing thoughts, overthinking.

  • Pause. Take a deep breath. Name what’s happening.

  • Use a pattern breaker:
“This is just a thought, not a fact.”
“I can choose to respond differently.”

  • Shift your focus. Stand up, stretch, step outside, or repeat a calming phrase.

Why it matters:
This is one of the most powerful tools in your mindset toolkit. You’re not at the mercy of every thought. You can observe it, challenge it, and choose to shift. Over time, this builds resilience, self-awareness, and inner calm.
